The temperatures are dropping.
The evenings are getting darker.
And hockey is back.
key season.
There’s Something About Hockey Night at Home
You don’t need arena seats to make game night something to look forward to.
Sometimes the best setup is your own living room.
Grab some snacks, invite a few friends over, settle into your favourite chair, and enjoy the game without worrying about parking or driving home afterward.
For rural Canadians, that’s especially appealing when the weather starts getting colder.
Live Sports Still Matter
Streaming has given us more ways to watch entertainment than ever before.
But sports are different.
You don’t want to find out what happened from a notification on your phone.
You want to see the goal when it happens.
Live television continues to be an important part of the experience for many sports fans.
Keep TV Separate From Your Internet
There’s another benefit for busy households.
Traditional satellite television doesn’t use your home internet connection to deliver its TV signal.
While you’re watching the game, someone else can be gaming, doing homework, browsing online, or using the internet without your television stream adding another activity to the connection.
That’s particularly useful in households where several people are online at once.
Hockey Isn’t the Only Thing Happening
October is a great month for sports fans.
Hockey is starting, football season is well underway, and there are still plenty of other live sporting events to follow.
Add news, movies, favourite channels, and family programming, and there’s no shortage of reasons to spend a cool fall evening at home.
Bring On Hockey Season
Soon enough, those crisp October evenings will become snowy Canadian nights.
That’s when a warm living room, something good to eat, and a game on TV starts sounding pretty perfect.
With Shaw Direct, rural Canadians can keep live television and entertainment part of their fall and winter routines.
So grab the snacks.
Hockey nights are back. 🏒
